Psychic readings: the gateway drug
A good reading is like a gateway drug…. because really, if you get a reading that’s awesome and clear and really pinpoints some issues in your life well of course you WANT MORE. Once you start, then the ideas about “you create your life” and “there is more than physical plane reality” seem more and more plausible. I had a psychic read for me 2 days before my wedding, as a pre-emptive strike (I take the warnings and act on them. If a psychic who has been right before says be careful for something you can be damn sure I will be!). She (the fabulous Juliet Nightingale who has since passed on to the other side- miss you!) said to me in her lovely British accent, “Duckie - you will be pregnant very soon if you aren’t already because I see a female spirit circling your head - rather like a plane waiting for confirmation to land” and I denied it, having been told by my doctor right before that with basically 1 working ovary I’d have a fairly tough time getting pregnant. So off I went and got married and then to my exotic honeymoon. About 4 weeks later I was retching and sick, convinced I had some horrid mosquito dropped payload of a jungle disease from our recent jaunt. Saw the doctor and she estimated I had gotten pregnant the wedding day. Er, night. And if you’ve ever met my daughter you know that if she wants to get somewhere nothing will stop her. She’s a force of nature. And apparently has always been that way, even before she landed in a body.
