Lisa Barretta (“the Street Smart Psychic”)
While wandering the shelves of Quest Bookstore in NYC, I happened upon Lisa Barretta’s first book, “The Street Smart Psychic” I skimmed through and read a few pages, decided I liked her voice and bought a copy. It’s a good book from the psychic’s viewpoint of what to look for in a psychic and when to run far, far away. Also covers what to expect in a reading, how to prepare etc… After I read the book, I wondered if she was still doing readings. Lisa uses a mix of intuitive guidance, as well as astrology. As with everything else, I generally wonder how good a person is at what they say they are. Some are just really good at BS or simply deluded beyond belief. Ever online date? So you know what I’m talking about. But I digress…
I emailed her and got an email back within a day. I sent her the payment and then she called me back to set an appointment time. She was able to read for me within 2 days of receiving my payment for the appointment. In her book, she categorizes people and I definitely fall into “psychic junkie” group. But I don’t feel bad since she is a self proclaimed one. We had our 30 minute reading, which I prepped for by reflecting on what I wanted to hear guidance on and then writing it down. I usually try to keep it to 8 words or less. An example would be: I want guidance on my best matched job. It’s a little awkward sometimes but as long as you know what it means, the Universe will get the message.
Lisa warned me before we began that sometimes she talks super fast to just get out the stuff that she is downloading, and to interrupt her if I needed clarification. And she was out the gate and off! She started with my chart; I don’t know what time I was born so she worked with date and place. She was able to pick up on several things that are currently actively going on in my life. I was impressed with the fact that she was able to pick up my business partner clearly. My business partner is way into astrology and maybe that was why they came into it so loud and clear. Because truthfully, while I am open, I am not an astrology buff - yes, I read my horoscope but that’s about as far as it goes for me. She said that my business partner had just gone through a bad divorce, which was true. Also that they moved recently. Also true. And went through personal characteristics which were true. She was good at pinpointing timeframes for our business and was insightful in what was actually going on currently in the business.
What I especially liked about Lisa:
1) She didn’t fish for information from me- she just gave me the information she was getting from her guides/astrology/intuition.
2) She was very articulate and specific, while being funny and friendly. None of this: “you will travel over water” kind of thing. I’ve gotten that a lot. It’s sort of dumb and doesn’t mean much.
3) Not shy about giving referrals to another psychic and a healer she knows and uses herself. Many people are all about keeping their share of the pie just that - THEIRS. She is not about that.
4) Her information seems accurate. I will be able to gauge better in the next 6 months but I think she’s very talented as a psychic. Well worth a reading.
